Breathing Tips For Singing

Hi again.I'm Juliana Teoh.

My second set of tips is about breathing. Its important to know that it is through breathing that we gain vocal power for singing.

It is not through pushing your stomach, the organ part just below your lungs to give power. If you use that, you will feel stress.

I don't have to tell you how to breathe because you were born breathing right. You can breathe through nose and mouth, right?

Mouth breathing is faster, not nose because you need fast air flow through your windpipe and then to your stomach to empower your voice.

Many have trouble while breathing through mouth because they are breathing through nose. You can't breathe through nose and mouth at the same time.

Breathe through your mouth, you must make sure that you are relaxed. Let go of your stomach. Don't push them in and make sure that you take lots of water and relax your throat, body and tongue.

Try placing your elbows on your knees and breath through your mouth. You will feel that your sides expand at the same time when you breathe and also contracts too. Just try doing that while standing up and sitting down.

You need to try these before you sing for at least 30 secs. Then when you breathe, take in air through your mouth whenever possible to make that you don't run out of breath to sing because that will effect your tone. Always breathe.

Make sure that you breathe in until your lungs are full with air until you can feel your ribs and sides expanding and contracting.REMEMBER! ALWAYS SING AT SPEECH LEVEL.
