Why Singers Imitate Other Singers

It’s only natural to listen to a singer you really love and think “I’d love to sound like that”. That’s one of the reasons we do it, right?

While you may inject some “coolness” into your voice, unfortunately some problems below the surface are growing.

The Big Problem

When you hear a singer and try and imitate the sound of their voice, it’s very likely it will cause you to push your voice out of shape.

What this will do over time is build bad habits into your singing, which will restrict your voice’s potential.

The Most Important Thing For You

It’s vitally important that you work on using your voice to produce your sound correctly. Only then will you sound at your best.

When you are singing with a correct foundation in place, you will experience the full potential of your voice. You’ll have access to your full vocal range and your tone will shine.

By trying to sound like other singers, you can only handicap yourself, because your voice was not built like theirs.

The Good News

The great news is that your voice is unique and wonderful. If you don’t like the sound of your voice at the moment, it only means one thing...

...You haven’t fully developed it yet!

When fully developed you will create your own amazing sound… and the best part…

…No one else will be able to sound exactly like you!

After all, isn’t that what you want? To be appreciated for being you.

Also remember, it doesn’t do much good to sound like someone else. The world already has one of them! What we need are new, unique voices to appreciate.

So work at developing your own voice to it’s fullest potential. This free singing tip will really set you free as a singer when you embrace it.

How can you do this? Start by learning how to sing correctly. This is the way to unleash your voice’s full potential.

To get started, here is an excellent free video series that will take you through all the most important concepts and exercises.
